We are now taking enrolments for our Advanced Character Work course with Kirsty Reilly for Term Four.
Kirsty has been teaching and working in the performing arts industry as a teacher, theatre/dance director, actor/dancer for thirty years, both nationally and internationally for over 20 years. Having worked at many leading acting institutions including NIDA, VCA and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and theatre companies including MTC, STC, QTC and Sydney Dance Company, Kirsty is now at Mooregrace running an advanced movement and character work course. This program is a rigorous investigation of character, script analysis and the actors craft for those keen to broaden their skills range and acting practice. A physical and embodied approach to acting and script which asks actors dig deeper, find a true authenticity and ultimately a more satisfying process.
Kirsty has worked with many talented artists during her teaching career, such as Cate Blanchett, Essie Davis, Toni Collette, Sam Worthington, Josh Lawson, Suzie Porter and many of the other faces that have graced our TV and film screens and shown up in our theatre productions. What she enjoys most is helping creatives reach their full potential, discover and be amazed at their gifts and the power of acting and telling stories.
If you're a committed artist looking to take your craft to the next level, this course is for you. We believe actors must have the ability to work in all mediums of our industry and this is what we aim to provide our students when establishing our curriculum. This class is for advanced students, so an interview is required for students who are new to Mooregrace. Entry to this class is by application only. Class sizes are kept to a minimum to ensure all students' needs are met.
