MG Students star in GPAC performance
MG Teens Ellah and Jackie take the stage!
GPAC is currently running a program enabling year 9 - 12 drama classes to create performances based on a one-word theme. This year's theme is Extinction. Presented in collaboration with Present Tense, Take Over is a youth festival which gives students the opportunity to explore acting, directing, design and stage-management which culminates, in a 20 minute performance piece in the Drama Theatre at GPAC.
We are so excited that our teens Ellah and Jackie are taking part in this production, we couldn't be more proud of them! Their theme is based around the idea of the extinction of expectations.
If you'd like to head along and support these two ambitious teens and their schools, they are performing this Tuesday 24th May at GPAC.

Showoff sessions: What are they and why they're essential for actors.
A General Audition with a Casting agent, or as we like to call them at MG, a "Showoff Session" provide an opportunity for a Casting Director to meet you, assess your acting ability and keep you in mind for any appropriate roles that come up in the future. Casting Directors (or Casting Agent, whatever you want to call them) are not actor’s agency (eg. They don't represent actors). Instead, Casting Directors are approached by production companies and are asked to find actors to fit specific roles. They find these actors in numerous ways, including looking through their database of talent they have met in the past or by contacting an actors’ agent and requesting certain performers. These sessions at MG fill up so quickly and we get so many questions regarding what Showoff Sessions are about and WHY actors would want to go an audition when they're not actually going for a particular part?! Well you're about to find out.
